Anvar is a barbarian who fights in the competition rings in Kharé.
He is tall and well built, with a head of thick, dark hair, a Snake tattoo on his left arm, and he is a tough fighter (skill 7, stamina 8).[2] Although it is not specified in the Sorcery! series, it is possible that Anvar is a Klattaman.
