Below Zero Point is a fan written Fighting Fantasy adventure by Robert Douglas. It was published online in 2011 at Fightingfantasygamebooks.com.[1]

Background[]

The Globesphere must be located - or Humanity is doomed!

It is 2202AD. Humanity has started to explore and colonize neighbouring star systems. However, crime is always rife; terrorists have stolen a doomsday device which could tip the balance of power in their favour.

As PI Sean Calibre, it is your mission to track down those responsible and locate the Globesphere before it can be utilized against Federal forces. Needless to say, this latest assignment is to be the most dangerous you have undertaken - formidable encounters are arrayed against you: lethal androids, treacherous assassins, terrorist thugs, and bizarre aliens. Friends are few and far between in a star system riddled with corruption and deceit.

From the sprawling Augustus metropolis, through hostile territory, to the icy wastes of Polaris, YOU must recover the Globesphere at all costs. Mankind's destiny depends upon YOU - failure is not an option!

Dare you accept the mission?

How to Endure Below Zero Point[]

The adventure in general follows the original rules set down in The Warlock of Firetop Mountain (see Game System).

Unique Rules[]

  • While the rolls for skill and luck remain unchanged, the roll for stamina is now 2d6 plus 18.
  • There is an Armour score to be taken into account during combat (this can be used to limit the player's Stamina damage, but also applies to an enemy wearing armour) which begins at 6.
  • There are combat procedures for gunfights and at times, when instructed by the text, the player has the additional option of using Smoke/Explosive Grenades during combat.
  • A maximum of 8 items can be carries in the rucksack at any one time.
  • The player can only carry 2 weapons and 1 close combat weapon at any one time.
  • Meals restore 3 stamina points at a time.
  • The adventure makes use of number codes.
