The Bum-Faced Monster was a humanoid creature inhabiting the Temple of Throff in the Invisible City.
Origins and Distribution[]
The only known Bum-Faced Monster exists within a guardroom in the Walkway of Evening in the Temple of Throff in the Invisible City. [1] It only appeared if someone attempted to take a weapon from the guardroom, manifesting in the fireplace. Since it can be destroyed by smoke-oil capable of curing a demon plague, it appears that the Bum-Faced Monster is not a normal creature. [2] In fact, it is specifically called a "demon" by Denka, and given it's vulnerability to smoke-oil it is possible it also takes increased damage from weapons that deal bonus damage to demons.
Description[]
The Bum-Faced Monster is a four-armed humanoid with twice the height of a human. It has four arms, with one pair facing forward and the other backwards. Additionally, the creature has one pair of feet which have toes on both ends. It will arm itself with whatever weapons it can take. Most notably, the Bum-Faced Monster has buttocks facing forwards. The left is that of a male human and the right of a female. [3] These faces are capable of independent thought and their arguing can delay the creature's attack.[4]
Special Abilities[]
The Bum-Faced Monster appears as purple smoke while manifesting in the fireplace. Should it be defeated in battle or struck with smoke-oil, it will dissolve into a puddle of liquid that leaves various items behind. For example, it may deposit a cold sausage, a cookbook, and a Nostalgia potion. [5]
