Creation
Edit
This shorter version of Caverns of the Snow Witch was published in the pages of Warlock only a couple of months prior to the publication of the full length gamebook and the "Fighting Fantasy News" section of Issue 3 makes it clear the adventure was always planned as a gamebook and simply shortened and modified for use in the magazine:
“ [It was] originally intended to be the next... [gamebook], but we decided to give readers a taste of what was to come by publishing [a] shortened [version] in the magazine. The full [adventure], which [is] very different from the Warlock [version] – and twice as long – [has] been completed.[1] ”
Background
Edit
The player is hired to kill a Yeti that has been attacking merchant caravans in the Icefinger Mountains and soon becomes involved in a mission to destroy the Snow Witch.
How to Fight the Creatures of the Ice Caverns

The adventure in general follows the original rules set down in The Warlock of Firetop Mountain (see Game System).
