A Dog-Ape was a creature with the body of an ape but the head of a dog.
It was capable of speech. It was known to stand guard with a mace outside the entrance to Balthus Dire's Citadel, along with its opposite number, an Ape-Dog.[1]

The dog-ape along with its companion were beleived to have been created by Craggen Dire with Marrangha magic.
