In the dank, forbidding depths of dungeons deep below the ground, many perils stalk the darkness in search of their next meal. The Night Stalker was perhaps Human once, but are something less than Human now.[1]

Description[]

Bent over from their endless wandering in the oppressive tunnels, Night Stalkers are sinewy beings, covered in folds of leathery ashen-grey skin. Their facial features are gruesome - eyes sunk deep into sockets and permanently squinting, teeth as long as a man's little finger, skin wrinkled and warty. Their arms are long and thin, and end in large, clawed hands that can split stone or skull with equal ease.[1]

Origins and Distribution[]

The sole known canon encounter with a Night Stalker occurred in a cave in the Moonstone Hills.[2] Given that they are on one of the Encounter Tables for Dungeon/Ruins in Out of the Pit, it is likely that Night Stalkers are widespread in underground locations across Titan, but probably extremely rare.[3]

They may be related to the Night Horror of the Lost City of Vatos, which is similarly named and also enjoys a nocturnal or dungeon-dwelling existence.[4]

Special Abilities[]

These subterranean cannibals have no special abilities.[1] However, when confronted with such a creature, the hero of Caverns of the Snow Witch had to reduce their Attack Strength by 2 as they were not used to fighting a Night Stalker in the dark.[5]

Further Notes[]

  • Night Stalkers may be carrying a small lantern to guide their unceasing patrols, and they may wear pretty, worthless trinkets stolen from past victims for the nice way they sparkle in the wan lantern light.[1]
