Origins and DistributionEdit
The Giant Frog may be found in wetlands across Titan. They are especially well known from Scorpion Swamp in Khul. In Allansia they can be found in the Swamplands of Silur Cha and Arantis. An example of this type was kept by the Riddling Reaver in one of his Riddle Cupboards. Lastly, there is a passing reference to them in The Crown of Kings, which would imply that they may be found in suitable habitat in Kakhabad such as the Vischlami Swamp.
They are described as "huge green bullfrogs" but their illustration makes them look more like some kind of Tree Frog. Their wide mouths are full of many tiny sharp teeth. The riddle on one of the Riddling Reaver's Riddle Cupboards describes them thus:
“ Long legs, crooked toes,
Glassy eyes, snotty nose.
Giant Frogs have powerful hind legs that can propel them to hop considerable distances. If they are trapped in a confined space with an opponent, their opponent must keep a careful eye on their violent hopping. If they do not, then any opponent (roll a die to decide which) will be knocked sprawling by the Giant Frog as it hops about. A Giant Frog in such a situation can knock an opponent over every other Attack Round. Anyone knocked over must spend the next Attack Round getting up, during which they may not fight - so an enemy will score a free hit on them unless someone steps in to help.
- In Scorpion Swamp two Giant Frogs served at all times as bodyguards for the mysterious wizard known as the Master of Frogs.
- In The Crown of Kings Giant Frogs are mentioned along with Snakes, Serpents, Hydras, and Lizard Men in an entry concerning a permanent phobia of reptiles. This is of course incorrect, as Giant Frogs are amphibians, not reptiles.
