The Giant Spike Spider was a species of large arachnid capable of attacking with a paralyzing spike.
Description[]
In contrast to other web-making variants of spider, the giant spike spider instead chose to create hollow structures resembling dead logs, which they could lurk within until prey came near.
Once potential food was sighted, they would attack with their stinger, hoping to immobilise. Their paralyisis would only work however for their first attack.
If their stinger was cut off, the spike spider could instead attack with its mandibles. Both their venom and any lost stinger could regenerate, though their stingers could take several weeks.
Their lairs were vulnerable to fire, though burning them would also likely destroy any paralysed victims within the lair.

They were found within tropical regions of southern Allansia.
