|Habitat||Hills, Mountains, Wilderness|
|Number Encountered||1 - 3|
A Harpy does not actually possess any arms, but its legs end in prehensile claws capable of gripping, rending and tearing. The claws are a Harpy's natural weapons and are often put to good use, as Harpies are predatory creatures and, moreover, vicious. The creatures delight in tormenting vulnerable travellers.
Harpies are, however, rather weak, and possess little intelligence. As such they are usually outmatched by a skilled warrior. Nevertheless, they can remain difficult to fight due to their ability to fly. Indeed, capable of flying to great heights, Harpies can make their habitat in inaccessible places among the hills and mountains of Titan and, while physically weak, would often have the element of surprise on their side, if not for their attacks usually being announced by strident cawing and screeching.
- Harpies are ultimately derived from Greek mythology. There is an encounter in Kharé - Cityport of Traps series in which two Harpies torment the blind Seventh Noble of Kharé. Given that a number of characters in the Sorcery! series have their inspiration in the film Jason and the Argonauts, it is likely that this scene was inspired by the harpies which torment the blind Phineas.
