Having left after the Battle of Helm Hill with the ring of Tholdur's House, given as a token of friendship by the Baron himself, having been his most trusted and valiant comrade in arms, this hero had expected a warm welcome. The destiny awaiting this soldier, however, was to deliver Neuberg from Evil.
The Margrave of Neuberg was being held in thrall by the sorceress Senyakhaz. Neuberg had become a place of nightmares and horror for Senyakhaz was in league with the ancient sorcerer Xakhaz, whose spirit had been entombed centuries before below Neuberg Keep.
The Baron's most trusted comrade in arms, whilst making for the Keep was drawn into the great Temple of Oiden, and emerged as Oiden's Champion. This return became a triumphant one, as in this new guise Oiden's Champion extinguished this new rise of Southern influence, put pay to Xakhaz's resurrection, destroying him forever more and the Baron was restored to full health and vigour. The Baron named the warrior as heir of his lands.
