Spoiler Warning!!!: Plot and/or ending details of a Fighting Fantasy publication follow. Please DO NOT read this article if you do not want foreknowledge of this publication. Although the article below is based on canon, some of its content is considered extrapolation because it assumes a certain course of events through an adventure that has many possible routes. Finally, the use of "Hero" and other male- gender expressions pertaining to the subject in the article and/or title of the article is not intended to exclude the possibility that the hero was female.

The Hero of Dead of Night was a Templar, renowned throughout almost the entire continent[1] as a Demon-Stalker,[2] who defeated many demonic plots and plans over the years, including several orchestrated by Myurr, himself.[3]

Born in Crowford in Gallantaria, the hero vowed to become a Demon-hunter after his or her brother was killed by a Fanged Demon when they were both children. The hero was sent to the Sacred Citadel of the Templars in Royal Lendle by the village priest, Branner, and spent years in training and fighting Chaos.[4]

It is possible that the hero took part in other books, either before or afterwards, but his or her specific background severely limits which books are compatible.
