Prison of Pestilence is a fan written Fighting Fantasy adventure by Robert Douglas. It was published online in 2000 at Fightingfantasy.com.[1]
Background[]
“ Escape from Vanquaz - or die in the attempt! Wrongly convicted of cowardice, then sentenced to five years imprisonment, you soon realize that matters are about to get much worse: Chaotic forces have invaded Vanquaz! Caught up within a ruthless necromancer's schemes your only chance of survival is to escape the prison fortress. However, the dark path ahead is most perilous - only by fighting prowess and luck can you survive... ”
Rules[]
The adventure in general follows the original rules set down in The Warlock of Firetop Mountain. (see Game System)
Unique Rules[]
- The introduction hints that you may acquire magic abilities, but does not provide any details. It is not until quite a way into the game that the player is required to generate a magic attribute, and is given a list of possible spells. Possession of certain objects enables additional spells to be cast.
- There are limitations placed on the number of objects that can be carried or worn.
Equipment List[]
As you are a prisoner you start with no weapons, food or equipment, but you do have a backpack.
