Riders of the Storm is a fan written Fighting Fantasy adventure by Philip Sadler, first published online in 2004 at Fighting fantasy gamebooks[1].

BackgroundEdit

You struck your final blow and the Trinitour fell. The Night Demon then revealed its presence and consigned you to oblivion until the end of time. As you felt the endless void take you, you took a final desperate oath of defiance. But all you heard as you disappeared from the earthly plane was a mocking laughter...[2]

RulesEdit

The adventure in general follows the original rules set down in The Warlock of Firetop Mountain (see Game System).

Unique RulesEdit

  • The player uses Healing Potions which restore stamina points determined by a 1d6 roll. At the beginning of the book the player determines how many Healing Potions they have by a 2d6 plus 6 roll.
  • On occasion the player will be asked to Test your Stamina. This is a 4d6 roll, with the rolled amount equalling or being less than the player's current stamina score marking a successful roll.
  • Instant Death: rolling a double 6 when determining the player's Attack Strength will instantly kill an enemy.

Equipment ListEdit

  • The player also begins with 1 of 6 Special Items, determined by a 1d6 die roll:
  • (1) Spell of Endurance
  • (2) Extra Health Potions
  • (3) Super Health Potions
  • (4) Holy Blessing
  • (5) Spell of Fortune
  • (6) Magical Double-Headed Coin
  • Help Ring
  • The player can also call on the help of the Trinitour 4 times during the game.
