Origins and DistributionEdit
Silver Dragons are the the second most powerful of the Dragon races, presumably made second only to the Gold. This may well explain the rivalry between the two, owing to the Silver Dragons' jealousy of the Gold's status among Dragonkind.
They prefer to inhabit the more desolate of wastes in Northern lands, well removed from other creatures, as they are bad-tempered and aggressive. However, Silver Dragons are not restricted to these climes, as was proved by the presence of a miniature one in the Reaver's Roost.
The typical Silver Dragon will rarely grow beyond twenty-five metres long, and their scales are a brilliant silver. They are especially spiky for Dragons, with several short horns and spines around their heads, and a row of spines down their back, ending about halfway down down their tail.
As with all Dragons, their wingspan is easily that of their full length, and their tongue is not forked, which is a common misconception. However, their eyes are still dangerous to look into without permission, as they can easily hypnotise a man or crush his spirit.
A Silver Dragon has cold for its breath, using it every three turns and striking up to two enemies at once with it, should they fail a "Test for Skill". The cold breath of an Adult Dragon will freeze away 4 stamina points, but the breath of a Young Dragon will only cause 2 stamina damage.
The majority of Silver Dragons can speak several languages, of both humanoid and animal races, and many adults are likely to possess magical abilities also.
- For some unexplained reason, there is intense rivalry between the Gold and Silver Dragons, though things haven't become violent for a long time. Silver Dragons also have a considerable fear of fire, and would rather give away a part of their vast hoards than face several creatures wielding it against them.
