The Word Fell Silent is an amateur Fighting Fantasy adventure by Kieran Coghlan. It was an entry in the 2010 Windhammer competition[1].

Judea groans under the rule of the Roman Empire, its king, Herod Agrippa II, nothing more than a puppet for the Roman governor. Some demand action against the Romans, others believe it a mistake to antagonise their masters. And there is turmoil between the different Jewish sects and with the new religion that has grown recently, spreading throughout the Roman World and threatening the Jewish faith: Christianity.[2]

As written, this gamebook used a proprietary system. For its subsequent adaptation to online play at Fighting Fantasy Project[3] it was converted to follow the original rules set down in The Warlock of Firetop Mountain (see Game System).
